About Us | Katonah Blue Storm
The Blue Storm Softball Travel Program pulls primarily from the Westchester County, New York towns of Katonah, Lewisboro, Bedford, North Salem, Pound Ridge, and Mt. Kisco. What makes our program unique is the fundamental goals that we have set as an organization. We want to provide your girls with a travel program that has year-round involvement without the high annual investment found at other facilities. Our mission is to play the top travel teams from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut while also taking our girls to a reasonable number of USSSA and Showcase Tournaments each year. We are also different from many year-round travel programs in that we promote the girls to play other sports. Many of our coaches also coach other sports. We want to see your daughters become not only well-rounded athletes, but well-rounded sports enthusiasts.
As part of our commitment to building the next group of tournament ready teams the Blue Storm will often have multiple teams at certain age groups. This is also important because softball takes a long time to learn all the aspects of the game. Some girls start playing softball later in their childhood so they need time to catch up, girls mature differently, but it is our desire to always try and keep as many kids in the program who are willing to sacrifice to make themselves and their teammates better. Michael Jordan was once cut from his high school basketball team so we really try to work with every child and parent to provide the best opportunities for them.
Finally, we would point out that KLBS (the parent entity of Blue Storm softball) is a 501c(3) not-for-profit corporation. We are seeking partnerships with area businesses and other fund-raising opportunities so as to keep the costs of participating on our teams as low as possible for our families. The goal is to provide a high quality travel softball program at a much lower cost than many of the other local travel options. By doing so we hope to bring in and retain as many of our current girls as possible, and at the same time encourage past participants of both KLBS and its prior travel teams to “come back home” to us. We are committed to taking Blue Storm softball to new heights and we hope that you will join us on this journey!
